New and Full Moon - Mysore

For over twenty years, Mati has dedicated his life to the practice and teaching of Ashtanga Yoga.
His deep commitment has given him the opportunity to live and share his passion with students around the world. Since 2010, Mati has regularly traveled to Mysore, India, to deepen his understanding of the traditional Ashtanga method. In 2014, he received Level 2 Authorization from his teacher, R. Sharath Jois, allowing him to teach the method. In 2016, Mati participated in the last Teachers’ Course organized by Sharath for his authorized and certified students — an experience that offered him a profound insight into both the essence of the practice and the art of teaching it. He also had the great honor of assisting Sharath on several occasions at SYC (formerly KPJAYI) in Mysore and abroad. Mati approaches yoga as a personal and evolving experience. His guidance is tailored to each student’s individual needs and capacities, always respecting the unique nature of every body. He emphasizes mindful movement over external form, reminding his students that “moving correctly and with awareness is more important than forcing yourself to fit an idea of what an asana should look like. |
