In any case, let's ask some questions!
In this WORKSHOP, we explore:
What does *going inward* mean, and how do we do it?
We mean - To cultivate a conscious, reflective process of our inner life. To practice the process of coming into contact with the Inner Self.
What is the Inner Self ?
The inner Self (inner life/soul) that which cannot be seen or physically touched: feelings, intuition, values, beliefs, personality, thoughts, emotions, fantasies, spirituality, desire, and purpose.
How do we do this?
First, we need to have the willingness and intentionality within our psyche, to contain the endeavour. Without this deliberate animating force as a container for the work, the intra-psychic awareness rapidly dissolves into the background. Your intense longing for self-understanding must be at the forefront of your practice. We will start to explore our beliefs, values, and attitudes to Self, Life, Soul and Relatonship.
There are many ways to do this:
1. Internal processes within the physical practice. We talk about meeting one's emotions on the mat. Top-level or surface emotions, interpreting emotions, and then the profound
method of feeling a "FEELING", which is a far more profound experience than mere
emotional expression.
- Applications/inventory outside of the physical practice.
- How to journaling on and off the mat.
- From the above processes, coupling these learnings with whatever is present in our daily
lives. WE MAKE CONTACT WITH OURSELVES, OUR RELATIONSHIP AND LIFE.
You use the body, the physical framework/scaffolding of the practice, to discover who we are, "how" we are and what we can BE-Come.
Within the architecture of the asanas, we weave a conscious, reflective process and become intimate with the inner Self. We enter a state of light trance.
The conscious mind momentarily quelled of its strivings, grievances and fears, and we can wittingly and purposely listen and feel for what is arising. e.g. emotions, feelings, resentments, jealousies, resistance, unfinished business, memories; the list is endless. Let us come together for this multi-layered and submergence workshop that will deliver you into the "Inner Self" and trustfully to the OTHER SIDE.

Ashtanga Yoga and the Spiral of the INNER LIFE : SOUL WORK
The spiral of the INNER LIFE is the journey of life.
Your soul is intent on gaining as many different life experiences as possible.
Your present and immediate life is part of a long and rich continuum. Your soul's plans for you are linked to what has gone before; that is, the experience of previously incarnate personality aspects from your soul thread. Before incarnation you may have agreed with your soul that you will finish or continue some experience that has already been set in motion or that you will continue to hone certain skills.
If previous personality beads have got some aspects of life seriously out of balance, then you may have items in your soul contract or agenda that relate to creating a new balance. By exploring the UNCONSCIOUS in YOU, then you might be asked to explore the opposite aspects of YOU. If the opposites have already been explored, then you might be charged with finding a middle way between such extremes.
As well as such designated soul work, your soul will want you to explore the life of your times and to some extent to be an opportunist, taking delight in the very act of living. Evolution is built from all conscious experience and is furthered by free exploration as well as by endeavouring to decode and understand the work your soul particularly wants you to do. It is when life gets tough with obstacles in the way and doors that seem not to open that your soul may want you to focus on one particular aspect of soul work before you are free to move forward in other ways. Gaining greater awareness of the Shadow and Unconscious aspects of your psyche can help you in knowing the moments in life when it is wise to wait and the moments when pushing forward is a better strategy.
In this intensive we will explore the spirals of the Inner life, (the Shadow, The Unconscious and INNER SELF). This inner is augmented with the spirals inherent the bones, muscles and fascia as complete system to access the unconscious parts of ourselves.
Carl Jung, said that the spiral is an archetypal symbol representing cosmic force; the libido is identified as the totality of psychic energy, not limited to sexual desire. For Jung, the purpose of psychic energy was to motivate the individual in several important ways, including spiritually, intellectually, and creatively. It was also an individual's motivational source for seeking pleasure and reducing conflict, and coming closer to the INNER SELF.
• Inner Life Spiral
I have observed and suggest that our life journey might be more accurately defined and experienced as a multidimensional Spiral Pathway. We begin from a point, a centre: expand, contract, differentiate and disappear into the centre point once again. This life pattern mirrors the inhalation and exhalation of each breath and the expansion and contraction dance of our life cycle.
As you move into the spiral, you are letting go of undesired aspects of your ego and possessions and worrying about others' perceptions of you and moving towards your Inner self. You have insights into your beliefs and behaviours on this inward journey and move into higher conscious awareness.
The path of life resembles a spiral. We seem to pass the same point repeatedly but from a different perspective each time.
Because our path is so imbued with this spiral movement, we often find our life returning or cycling back to similar issues and patterns. It is essential and hopeful to note that though the same issues may reappear, we always have the opportunity to address them from an enhanced state of awareness. This perspective is gifted via that innate instincts dynamic flow, which continues to carry us along the spiral pathway.
The more profound therapeutic process supports awareness of these unique patterns and creates opportunities to review them with fresh eyes. One can then choose to accept, shift, change, let go, grow and continue the inner-directed movement toward self-awareness and complete expression of our unique life’s work and gifts.
• Outer form Spirals
Inner and Outer Spiral are a pair of alignment principles generally applied to the hip girdle. However, the can also highly attuned sensations in the leg bones and feet. They are specifically designed to take us towards a place of balance, as they are borne of the understanding that balance is integral to wellbeing.
This perspective runs counter to the widespread belief that more is better. It also runs counter to the belief that the opposite of something “bad” must be “good”. Inner and Outer Spirals allow us to experience in our own bodies that neither of the latter beliefs, no matter how widespread, is true.
Because of their inherent balancing nature, and because they involve intricate movements of the core, Inner and Outer Spiral are wonderful tools to continue the odyssey into the INNER SELF.
