Kalaripayattu is considered the mother of Martial Arts, born in Kerala, in India in the 4th sec B.C. The legend narrates that the monk Bodhidharma learnt this martial form in India and brought it in Shaolin Temples, giving birth to Kung Fu. Its forms were born from the observation of the animal kingdom and are composed by a base of Animal Postures, assimilable to the Asanas of the Yoga, combined in dynamic choreographic sequences with kiks and jumps. When the student acquires enough strenght, resistance and flexibilities, after a long period of physical practice, starts the training with weapons. A journey into the energy Yang, of the Warrior, of Shiva, to create presence and energetic stability. A journey to brake your own physical and mental limits. The work is energetically concentrated on the lower chakras, on the rootment, the relationship with the Earth, the strenght of the lower limbs, the opening of the hips. The practice develops a strong core, an explosive and flexible body, a focused and clear mind. To reach the harmony we combine a Ying part, of softness and breath, with some dynamic sequences of Vinyasa Yoga and deep work of Chakra Meditation. Kalaripayattu is a dynamic meditation.
